Word to PDF
DOCX, DOC, RTF and ODT to PDF. Your files are never uploaded to a server.
.docx · .doc · .rtf · .odt · .txt · Free · No sign-up · No size limit
The most common reason to turn a Word document into a PDF is to keep the formatting from shifting on the recipient screen. A Word file moves its line breaks and tables depending on the fonts and Word version on the other end, but a PDF keeps the same look wherever it is opened. That is why resumes, quotes and contracts are sent as PDF.
The moatool converter never uploads your document. A real office engine runs inside your browser to build the PDF, so even sensitive files stay on your device and there is no size limit.
How to convert Word to PDF
When you convert Word documents (DOCX, DOC, RTF, ODT) to PDF, the look stays the same regardless of the Word version or fonts on the other end. The converter below handles them all at once, no matter the format.
How to convert
- Click Open converter above to open the office converter. The conversion engine (LibreOffice) gets ready once in the background the first time.
- Drag a Word file (.docx, .doc, .rtf, .odt) in, or pick it with Choose file. The file is not uploaded — it stays inside your browser.
- Press Convert to PDF and it is built right on your device and saved. From the second time on, the engine is cached and starts instantly.
When to use it
Tip DOCX, DOC, RTF and ODT are all supported. Fonts missing from your device are swapped for similar ones, so check important documents after converting.

Frequently asked questions
Will my fonts change?
If the fonts used in the document are installed on your device, they are kept as is. Missing fonts are swapped for similar ones, so it is worth checking important documents once after converting. Korean fonts are supported too.
Do Hangul (HWP) files work?
No. The recent HWP format of the Hangul word processor is not supported.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Because nothing is uploaded to a server there is no upload cap; the only limit is your device memory.
Why is the first run slow?
The office engine is downloaded once the first time. After that it starts right away — you are downloading the engine, not sending your document.
Does my file go to a server?
No. A real office engine runs inside your browser to make the PDF, so contracts and HR files stay on your device.
