Excel to PDF
XLSX, XLS, ODS and CSV to PDF. Your data is never uploaded to a server.
.xlsx · .xls · .ods · .csv · Free · No sign-up · No size limit
Send an Excel file as is and the other person can touch your formulas or open hidden sheets. Convert it to PDF and it is fixed exactly as shown, which is safe for reports and submissions.
The moatool converter never uploads your document. A real office engine runs inside your browser to build the PDF, so even sensitive files stay on your device and there is no size limit.
How to convert Excel to PDF
When you convert an Excel spreadsheet (XLSX, XLS, ODS, CSV) to PDF, the other person cannot change the formulas and the column widths do not look different — it is fixed exactly as it prints.
How to convert
- Click Open converter above to open the office converter. The conversion engine (LibreOffice) gets ready once in the background the first time.
- Drag an Excel file (.xlsx, .xls, .ods, .csv) in, or pick it with Choose file. The file is not uploaded — it stays inside your browser.
- Press Convert to PDF and it is built right on your device and saved. From the second time on, the engine is cached and starts instantly.
When to use it
Tip Tables with many columns can run past the page width and get cut. Set the print area and scale in Excel first, then convert, for a clean result.

Frequently asked questions
What happens with multiple sheets?
It is made into a PDF following the print range set in the document. If you only need a specific sheet, the sure way is to delete the other sheets in Excel, save, and then add it.
My table comes out cut off
It follows the page setup in Excel (paper orientation and scale). For a wide table, switch the paper to landscape in Excel or turn on Fit to One Page, then convert.
Does CSV work too?
Yes. A CSV has no formatting information, though, so the table is drawn with default formatting.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Because nothing is uploaded to a server there is no upload cap; the only limit is your device memory.
Why is the first run slow?
The office engine is downloaded once the first time. After that it starts right away — you are downloading the engine, not sending your document.
Does my file go to a server?
No. A real office engine runs inside your browser to make the PDF, so contracts and HR files stay on your device.
