Add Page Numbers to PDF
Prints a number at the bottom of every page.
0 B uploaded — this page has not sent your files anywhere?
Other conversion sites upload your file to a server, process it there, and say they delete it after a while. Until that happens, your file sits on someone else’s server. Here there is no upload step at all. The more sensitive the file — contracts, ID scans, medical records — the more that difference matters. See how to verify it →
Add page numbers a submission expects, without opening the source file
A PDF exported from Word and merged with others, or built from scans, often has no page numbers at all. This tool stamps a number at the bottom of every page with the position, starting number, text size and an optional “1 / 10” format you choose, then saves a new PDF. Nothing is uploaded.
A closer look
The numbers are added as text objects drawn on top of each page. They are set in the standard Helvetica font; since only digits and a slash are needed, no extra font has to be embedded and the file barely grows. Each number sits about 22 points (roughly 8 mm) above the bottom edge in dark grey, and the left and right options keep it 40 points in from the side. The three positions are bottom center, bottom right and bottom left; there is no top-of-page option.
Changing the starting number shifts the whole sequence: the first page gets that number and each page adds one. With the “1 / 10” format on, the total is calculated from the starting number too, so a ten-page file that starts at 3 runs from “3 / 12” to “12 / 12”. Every page is numbered; there is no option to skip pages. Running the tool twice on the same file stamps a second number over the first, so apply it once to a clean original.
How to use it
- Open a PDF and pick a Position: bottom center, bottom right or bottom left.
- Set Start at. The default is 1, and 0 is allowed if you want the first page to count as zero.
- Choose a Size of Small (10 pt), Medium (12 pt) or Large (16 pt), and tick “1 / 10” format if you want the total shown next to each number.
- Press Add Page Numbers. A new file ending in “_numbered.pdf” downloads with every page stamped.

Common snags
Tip Start at 1 with the “1 / 10” format turned on is the most practical combination for anything you submit: the recipient never has to count pages.
