Open-Source Notices
The tools on moatool.app (and all of its subdomains) are built on top of open-source software. Below is the list of the main open-source projects the service uses, together with their licenses and the location of their source code. The full text of each license, and the most current information, is available in the linked project repository.
The license names in this table are based on the license files and file headers shipped with the builds we distribute, or on the project repositories themselves. Where we cannot confirm a license with certainty, the entry says "see project repository" and only the link is given. If anything here needs correcting, please write to [email protected].
Ghostscript (AGPL-3.0) source code
The "keep text" mode of PDF compression is based on Ghostscript, which is distributed under the AGPL-3.0. Its source code is available from the link in the table below (github.com/ArtifexSoftware/ghostpdl), and the exact build this site delivers to your browser can be downloaded as-is from /vendor/gs/gs.js and /vendor/gs/gs.wasm. The full license text that applies to that build is distributed alongside it at /vendor/gs/LICENSE.

About this list
Every moatool tool runs inside your own browser, so the software above is delivered to your device and executed there rather than on a server. That is why your files never leave your device, and why tools you have already loaded keep working even with the internet disconnected. This list is updated whenever the software behind the service changes.
