Your files never leave your device — 100% local processing

Split PDF · Extract Pages

Pick only the pages you need and save them as a new PDF. Your file is never uploaded.

0 B uploaded — this page has not sent your files anywhere?

Private by design — this tool never uploads your files anywhere. Everything runs inside your browser, and the finished file is saved straight to your device.

Other conversion sites upload your file to a server, process it there, and say they delete it after a while. Until that happens, your file sits on someone else’s server. Here there is no upload step at all. The more sensitive the file — contracts, ID scans, medical records — the more that difference matters. See how to verify it →

Pull just the pages you need out of a long PDF

Often only a few pages of a long document need to be submitted or shared. Type the page numbers and this tool builds a new PDF containing only those pages, in the order you typed them. The original file is left as it was, and nothing is uploaded.

A closer look

When you open a file, the tool first reads the page count and shows it as “(30 pages total)”, and the input box is pre-filled with the whole range, for example “1-30”. Replace it with a list of pages separated by commas, using a hyphen for a run of consecutive pages. The order you type is the order you get: “5, 1-4” puts page 5 first, and writing a range from high to low, such as “10-1”, produces those pages in reverse. The extracted pages are copied straight from the original, so text selection, search and image resolution are exactly the same as before.

Each run produces one file. To split pages 1–10 and 11–20 into separate files, change the range and press the button a second time; there is no need to open the original again. Notes and comments attached to a page travel with that page, but the original’s bookmarks and document fields such as title and author do not carry over. Fonts and images shared by many pages are copied whole, so extracting three pages from a large file may not shrink it in proportion to the page count.

How to use it

When it helps

Submit only part of a documentTake the signature page and the special terms out of a long contract so the rest of your personal details stay home.
Excerpt a reportShare one chapter, or the main body without the appendix and references, with a study group.
Fix a reversed scanA 20-page stack fed upside down scans last page first; extract “20-1” to put it back in order.
Stay under an email limitExtract “1-40” and then “41-80” and send a large document in two messages.

Common snags

It says “Please check the page range”.A number is higher than the last page, or the box contains something other than digits, commas and hyphens. Formats like “3~5” or “p. 3” are not understood. Re-enter the range as “3-5”, within the page total shown in the message.
It says “This PDF is password-protected”.The message appears not only for files with an open password but also for files that only restrict printing or editing. Make an unlocked copy with Unlock PDF and open that copy here.
I want every page as its own file. Each run creates one file. For a short document, repeat with “1”, then “2”, then “3”. If you would rather choose by looking at the pages, Organize PDF shows thumbnails you can keep or drop.
The extracted file still has comments on it.Comments and notes are part of the page, so they are copied with it. Before sending the file outside your team, run it through the Document Leak Checker to see what is attached.

Tip Type the page’s position in the file, not the number printed at the bottom of the page. Covers and tables of contents make those two differ in many documents, so check the position in your viewer first.

How to split a PDF

How do I write the page range?

Separate entries with commas. For example 1-3, 5, 8-10 extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10 in that order. Pages come out in the order you type them, so 5, 1 also lets you reorder as you extract.

Can I split one PDF into separate single-page files?

Right now the tool extracts your selection into one new PDF. To get several files, run it a few times with a different range each time.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. The selected pages are copied over exactly as they are — text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.

What about password-protected PDFs?

Remove the password first with our Unlock PDF tool, then come back and extract the pages.
